Elmer S. Ermitaño, Jr. and Aimee Rose U. Cruz, alumni of the BS Chemistry program of Central Philippine University, were among the topnotchers in the October 2019 Chemical Technician Licensure Examination placing 8th and 10th respectively. Ermitaño and Cruz also successfully passed the October 2019 Chemist Licensure Examination

Ermitaño took the 8th spot with a rating of 89.50%, while Cruz placed 10th with a rating of 88.50 %. CPU attained an over-all passing percentage of 90.48% with 19 passers out of 21 examinees for the Chemical Technician Licensure Examinations. For the Chemist Licensure Examinations, CPU got a passing percentage of 14.29% with two passers out of 14 examinees.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, 2,298 out of 2,834 examinees passed the said Chemical Technician Licensure Examinations, and 457 out of 1,085 passed the Chemist Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Chemistry in Manila, Cagayan De Oro, and Cebu on October 2019.
