“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)

On June 3, the CPUAA UAE Chapter donated an additional fund for their existing scholarship program.

Dear Centralian family,

On June 5, 2024, we had a conference about “Embracing QS Ranking for Institutional Development & Stability: No Turning Back” held at the Conference Hall, Henry Luce III Library. Holding this conference to address several issues related to the QS Rankings is a step in the right direction. We still have a long way to go and so many things to do. However, we will not be deterred and by the grace of God, we hope to be in a sweet spot next year and the years following. We aim for a better Central as we continue to pursue Exemplary Christian Education for Life (EXCEL).

The importance of forging partnerships between universities and local areas does not only enrich the academic experience but also plays a crucial role in addressing societal challenges, fostering sustainable development, and cultivating communities that are grounded in compassion, empathy, and shared values. On June 6, the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center, headed by Prof. Sarex Dalida Dipol, Jr., Acting Director, organized the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with local government units and schools. We continue to build bridges so that we can work hand in hand with the people in the community and develop deep friendships that will last for a long time.

The CPU Women’s Softball Team, coached by Pastor Kim B. Dela Cruz, has not only clinched the championship during the ILOPRISAA MEET 2024 but has also demonstrated their academic prowess by successfully passing the board examinations. Seventeen former athletes are now Licensed Professional Teachers and Registered Social Workers. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each member of our women’s softball team and to Pastor Kim for using this avenue to embody the wholistic values that we strive to instill in our students here at Central.

I want to highlight the positive impact of our alumni to the University. Their unwavering support and generous contributions especially to our scholarship programs have not only transformed lives but have also strengthened the very foundation of our institution. On May 13, the CPUAA KSA-Riyadh Chapter handed over their donation to the University’s grants-in-aid program for deserving students. Recently, the CPUAA UAE Chapter also donated additional funds for the same program. These donations represent a lifeline for Centralian students facing financial hardships, allowing them to pursue higher education and their aspirations with confidence, perseverance, and determination.

As we bid farewell to another academic term, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. With the conclusion of classes, we not only mark the end of a chapter but also celebrate the countless achievements and milestones attained throughout the year. At this juncture, we are given a precious opportunity to pause, rest, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most—our families. I encourage each member of the University community to prioritize their well-being and carve out moments to cherish with them.

Let us dream big – for it is through a bold vision and a resolute drive for excellence that we make CPU a place where everyone can grow, thrive, learn, and succeed.
