Central Philippine University, in collaboration with the World Bank, is delighted to announce the upcoming Philippines Economic Update (PEU) Development Dialogues focusing on sustainable water supply and sanitation. The public forum is scheduled to take place on March 11 at CPU Henry Luce III Library, commencing at 9:00AM.

As a biannual initiative led by the World Bank, the PEU Development Dialogues serve as an integral and open platform for meaningful discussions among key stakeholders, addressing crucial development issues within the Philippines. Aligned with the launch of the Philippines Economic Update, which analyzes recent socioeconomic trends and outlines the growth outlook for the nation, the current edition emphasizes the contextual landscape, challenges, and policy options pertaining to sustainable water supply and sanitation services in the Philippines.

The Development Dialogues play a pivotal role in fostering dialogue and collaboration across various sectors, offering participants an opportunity for multisector networking and engaging in informed debates. The forum will feature a comprehensive presentation by the World Bank team, showcasing the growth outlook and key findings from the water policy study. Subsequently, a panel of expert reactors will provide responses, followed by an open forum session.

Anticipating the attendance of approximately 100 representatives from government, academia, civil society, the private sector, and multilateral and bilateral development partners, the in-person participants will gather at the venue. Additionally, a broader audience will join remotely via the Facebook Live platform.

The Philippines Economic Update Development Dialogues represent a unique opportunity to explore collaborative solutions, share insights, and contribute to the ongoing discourse on sustainable water supply and sanitation in the Philippines. The event promises to be a dynamic and informative exchange, furthering the collective effort towards achieving lasting positive impacts on the nation’s development landscape.
