Centralian nurses take center stage at the FNAQ Induction Ceremony, exemplifying excellence, leadership, and global impact in advancing the nursing profession abroad.

On March 28, 2026, the Filipino Nurses Association of Quebec (FNAQ) celebrated its induction ceremony at the Filipino Association of Montreal and Suburbs (FAMAS) community centre, marking a significant milestone for Centralian nurses.

Two of our very own Centralian alumni held executive board positions for the 2026–2028 term: Jema Dignadice-Monserate (BSN 2012) as Treasurer and Chairman of the Bereavement Support Committee, and Noel Roy Matutina Villa (BSN 2006) as Director of Continuing Education and Programs and Chairman of the Illness and Hospitalization Support Committee. Notably, Noel Roy Villa was officially nominated for the position of President but respectfully declined, choosing instead to continue his dedicated service in his current role. This decision reflects his steadfast commitment to advancing continuing education and professional development among Filipino nurses in Quebec.

Their leadership exemplifies the excellence, integrity, and global impact of Centralian nurses in advancing the nursing profession abroad. This milestone also pays tribute to FNAQ Founder Mrs. Maggie D. Belleza Calcetas (BSN 1961), a proud Centralian nurse whose excellence in nursing, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication have been instrumental in the establishment and continued success of the organization. A respected leader and retired Nursing Coordinator from the Jewish General Hospital, Mrs. Calcetas founded FNAQ in 1992 to support and empower Filipino nurses in Quebec.

Mrs. Calcetas is also a recipient of the CPU Most Distinguished Alumni Award (1996), a testament to her outstanding contributions to the nursing profession and the Filipino community. Her vision of fostering a nurturing and empowering community continues to inspire generations of Filipino nurses to uphold the highest standards of professional practice, leadership, and compassionate service.

Truly, this induction highlights the lasting impact of Centralian education and the pride Centralians carry wherever they serve.
