Learning the “What, Why, When, and How” of impact studies. A productive session led by Dr. Margen Java for CPU’s Outreach Coordinators last April 22, 2026.
Dr. Margen Java, Program Head of the Doctor of Education major in Guidance and Counseling, served as the resource person for the Seminar-Training on Impact Study for Outreach Coordinators. The event was held on April 22, 2026, at the CPUGAD TBI Coworking Space, and was organized by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension and the Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center.
The training focused on the essential aspects of impact studies, specifically discussing the “3Ws and H” — What, Why, When, and How — to equip coordinators with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively measure and evaluate the outcomes of their outreach programs.
Through this session, participants gained valuable insights on conducting meaningful assessments that demonstrate the real-world impact of community engagement initiatives. Dr. Java’s expertise contributed significantly to strengthening the capacity of the team in research and extension work.
