On June 20, 2026, the CPU Rank and File Labor Union–Federation of Free Workers (CPURAFLU-FFW) conducted the Women and Youth Digital Advocacy on Just Transition Seminar-Workshop at Smallville 21 Hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, bringing together CPURAFLU-FFW members to strengthen digital advocacy, support human rights defenders, and promote the protection of civic space amid the challenges of a just transition.

The seminar-workshop was sponsored by the Danish Trade Union Development Agency (DTDA) and the Federation of Free Workers (FFW), reflecting their shared commitment to empowering workers, advancing human rights, and fostering inclusive participation in social and economic transformation.

The program commenced with the registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer led by Ma. Josephine Valenciana, member of CPURAFLU-FFW, and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. In her welcome remarks, CPURAFLU-FFW President Ma. Victoria Bellosillo emphasized the importance of equipping women and youth with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively engage in digital advocacy and contribute to discussions on climate justice and just transition.

A series of learning sessions featured resource speakers who shared insights on key issues related to climate action and digital engagement. Mrs. Leonance E. Cataluña opened the discussions with an introduction to climate justice and just transition, highlighting the need for equitable and inclusive approaches to environmental and economic change. This was followed by a session on women and youth climate advocacy, facilitated by Mrs. Ligaya Villarias-Caniel, which underscored the vital role of women and young people in advancing climate-related initiatives.

Participants also gained practical knowledge on digital campaigning through a session on online campaigning conducted by Ms. Wilna Claire Arañez. Meanwhile, Mr. Salvador Paparon III discussed effective social media strategies and storytelling techniques, emphasizing the power of digital platforms in raising awareness, mobilizing communities, and amplifying advocacy efforts.

A hands-on campaign-building workshop enabled participants to apply the concepts discussed during the sessions. The activity culminated in the presentation of campaign outputs, allowing attendees to showcase their ideas and proposed advocacy initiatives. Participants likewise engaged in action planning to identify concrete steps for sustaining their advocacy efforts beyond the seminar-workshop.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation to participants and resource speakers, followed by a photo opportunity. Through the seminar-workshop, CPURAFLU-FFW reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and youth advocates and strengthening their capacity to champion climate justice, human rights, and inclusive development in the digital age.
