In a steadfast commitment to upholding academic excellence, esteemed faculty members from Central Philippine University (CPU) have once again taken an active role in accreditation efforts under the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities Accrediting Council Inc. (ACSCU-ACI). Their participation underscores CPU’s dedication to maintaining and improving educational standards across institutions.
Dr. Stella G. Fernandez, Dean of the CPU College of Arts and Sciences and a faculty member of the Life Sciences Department, alongside Asst. Prof. Kareen Jay D. Lozada, RSW, MSSW, Chairperson of the Social Work Department, are currently serving as accreditors under the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities Accrediting Council Inc. (ACSCU-ACI). The accreditation visit is being conducted from April 13 to 17 at Filamer Christian University.

The week-long visit covers both preliminary and resurvey evaluations of several degree offerings. Programs undergoing preliminary evaluation include the Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Social Work, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Meanwhile, resurvey evaluations are being conducted for the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.
As part of the accreditation process, accreditors are tasked to assess the institution’s compliance with established academic standards, including instruction, research, community engagement, and institutional support systems. Their findings will play a significant role in determining the level of accreditation granted to each program.
The involvement of CPU faculty in the accreditation process reflects the university’s sustained commitment to advancing academic standards and supporting peer institutions within the ACSCU-ACI network.
