The Central Philippine University College of Education successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on “Curriculum Review and OBE Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation” on May 7, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the KDC, Henry Luce III Library.
The activity brought together faculty members and program coordinators in a meaningful and collaborative engagement aimed at strengthening curriculum quality, enhancing instructional practices, and ensuring full alignment with the principles of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), ultimately advancing the College’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
The seminar-workshop formally commenced with the registration of participants from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM, followed by a devotional activity led by Pastor Louvel Edson Caspe, which created a reflective, inspiring, and faith-centered atmosphere for the day’s undertaking. The opening program was delivered by OIC Dean Dr. Maredil R. Ambos, who warmly welcomed the participants and presented the rationale of the activity, highlighting the College’s steadfast commitment to continuous quality improvement, academic excellence, and transformative teacher education.
The morning seminar sessions centered on OBE Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation, with Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Merle L. Junsay serving as the resource speaker. Faculty members actively engaged in meaningful discussions on effective curriculum delivery, assessment strategies, learning outcomes alignment, and quality assurance mechanisms. The sessions provided valuable insights and practical approaches to ensure that academic programs remain responsive to contemporary educational demands, accreditation requirements, and institutional standards of excellence.
Following the productive morning sessions and collaborative exchanges, participants proceeded to the afternoon Curriculum Review session. Faculty members enthusiastically participated in group discussions, brainstorming activities, and collaborative workshops aimed at revisiting curricular offerings, strengthening course alignment, and identifying necessary revisions and enhancements in the programs of the College of Education. The activity also included the presentation of outputs, where faculty groups shared their recommendations, proposed improvements, and action plans for curriculum enhancement and OBE implementation.
This collaborative presentation fostered professional dialogue and encouraged collective commitment toward educational innovation and excellence.
The seminar-workshop concluded with a closing program highlighted by the awarding of certificates and a photo opportunity to commemorate the success of the event. Asst. Prof. Bryan Paul L. Espinosa served as the Master of the Ceremony throughout the activity.
Through this initiative, the Central Philippine University College of Education once again affirmed its dedication to academic leadership, quality assurance, and transformative education.
