The faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences lead the Songs of Praise and Adoration as they lead this portion of the service through enthusiasm and exuberance.

In a preparation for their upcoming commencement, the Central Philippine University College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) held a Vesper Worship Service on April 26, 2026. The event, which also served as a formal dedication service, took place at the University Church and was attended by graduating 4th year students and representatives from the School of Graduate Studies. As the sun began to set, the candidates for graduation filed into the sanctuary at 5:30 PM to reflect on their academic journey and commit their future endeavors to a higher calling.

The service opened with a warm welcome from Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, who set a tone of gratitude and reverence. He then introduced University President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, who delivered a message of encouragement. Dr. Dagohoy commended the graduating class for their resilience and hard work, urging them to carry the values of the university with them and to take immense pride in their identity as Centralians as they transition into their respective professional fields.

The musical portion of the service featured a choir comprised of CAS faculty members, who led the congregation in several songs of praise. Their repertoire included “Goodbye Yesterday,” “Sacred Heart,” and “I Give You My Heart,” providing a melodic backdrop that emphasized the transition from student life to the new chapters awaiting the graduates.

Pastor Louvel Edson L. Caspe led the scripture reading and delivered the central message, drawing from Isaiah 6:8 and Matthew 4:19. Centered on the theme “I Follow You,” Pastor Caspe’s homily explored the profound process of discovering one’s true calling. He shared personal experiences of how faith guided his own path and delved into the significance of the biblical “Isaiah moment”—the willingness to say, “Here am I; send me.” He encouraged the students to listen for that same call as they navigate the complexities of their post-graduate lives.

The service then moved into the Offertory, where the community celebrated worship through the giving of offerings, accompanied by an Offertory Sentence and Prayer. This was followed by the Litany of Dedication, with responsive readings taken from James 3:13 and 4:3, focusing on the pursuit of wisdom and right motives. A special Prayer of Dedication was then offered specifically for the graduating students, asking for divine guidance and success in their future careers and personal growth.

The evening concluded with the closing song, “I Know a Name,” followed by a final benediction led by Pastor Caspe. As the graduates left the University Church, the service served as a poignant reminder that while their time as students may be concluding, their journey as followers and leaders in the global community is only just beginning.
