On May 31, 2026, the Central Philippine University College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences (CPU CARES) hosted a heartwarming tea party for the graduates of Batch 2026. Held at the Lenwood Edge Building (LED), Room 105, the event brought together CPU CARES faculty, staff, and graduating fourth-year students for a memorable celebration of success and fellowship.

The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Ms. Darren Joy G. Galvan, followed by a warm welcome message from the CPU CARES Dean, Dr. Jaime D. Cabarles Jr. A central highlight of the event was the recognition of honor students, who were pinned with the university’s signature blue and yellow ribbons to be proudly worn with their togas for the upcoming Graduation Ceremony. Selected honor graduates then took the stage to share inspiring messages of gratitude dedicated to their professors, peers, and parents namely Ferry Rose L. Contreras (BS Environmental Management; Magna Cum Laude), Raidenson M. Tumilba (BS Agriculture; Cum Laude), Erwin F. Bangha-on Jr. (BS Agriculture; Cum Laude), Jesun Gabriel S. Suelon (BS Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering; Cum Laude), John Brix L. Arban (BS Agriculture; Cum Laude), and Jan Erick G. Verde (BS Agriculture; Cum Laude).

Following the students’ speeches, Ma’am Cynthia Contreras delivered a heartfelt message on behalf of the proud parents, expressing their deep joy and support for the graduates. The event also featured special tribute awards recognizing deep-rooted connections within the CPU community such as the “Anak Sang Staff” Award where it was given to a student in honor of their dedication and hard work throughout their university years alongside the CPU CARES faculty and staff, and the “Anak Sang Alumni” Award that recognizes the continuation of the Centralian legacy across generations.

Adding to the inspiration of the day, Asst. Prof. Homer E. Deloso, CPU CARES Alumni Association Inc. (AAI) President, delivered an encouraging message, offering the graduates wisdom and guidance for their future career paths. Before the refreshments were served, Miss Ma. Nelte E. Catunao, Instructor 1, led the prayer before meals. The rest of the morning was filled with laughter, tears of joy, and nostalgic storytelling, capturing the tight-knit bond of the graduating class, their professors, and the college faculty.

The CPU CARES Tea Party successfully bridged years of hard academic work with a celebratory send-off, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Class of 2026.
