CHED representatives visit CPU for SEAMEO RIHED and AIMS preparations

Representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office, CHED International Affairs Service, and CHED Regional Office VI pose with CPU officials during their coordination meeting at the BOT Conference Room.

Central Philippine University (CPU) welcomed representatives from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office, CHED International Affairs Service, and CHED Regional Office VI on July 22, 2026, to discuss preparations for the upcoming SEAMEO RIHED Governing Board Meeting, Policy Dialogue, and the 29th Annual Review Meeting of the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme, which will be held in Iloilo City.

Engr. Dany C. Molina, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the President and Vice President for Administration, and Dr. Merle L. Junsay, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, led the CPU officials who welcomed the CHED delegation during the meeting held at the Board of Trustees (BOT) Conference Room. They were joined by Asst. Prof. Lesley Joy L. Dignadice, Director of the Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center (LILAC); Asst. Prof. Maria Patricia Bayot; and Asst. Prof. Denie Erwin W. Tan of the College of Hospitality Management (CHM).

The discussion centered on the preparations for the upcoming regional events and possible areas of collaboration between CPU and CHED, particularly in coordinating the provision and deployment of ushers and usherettes who will assist during the international gatherings.

Representing the CHED Central Office was Dr. Ian Evangelista, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Deputy Executive Director and concurrent Chief of Staff of the Office of the Chairperson. He was accompanied by representatives from the CHED International Affairs Service, including Ms. Jess S. Estanislao, Senior Education Program Specialist and Desk Officer for ASEAN and SEAMEO Affairs; Ms. Elma C. Paz, Education Program Specialist II; and Mr. Eldrin P. Delgado, Project Technical Staff II.

The CHED Regional Office VI delegation was composed of Dr. Danebeth Narzoles, Chief Education Program Specialist and Internationalization Focal, and Ms. Janessa Nicole Juarez, Project Technical Staff III.

The meeting highlighted CPU’s continued collaboration with CHED in supporting international higher education initiatives and strengthening partnerships that contribute to regional academic cooperation.
