The College of Nursing (CON) clinches the championship in the Character Interpretation category, followed by the College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS) and College of Medicine (COM).

Central Philippine University’s University Day 2024 continues to captivate the campus community with a series of vibrant literary events under the theme, “The Unyielding Central Spirit: Spurring Centralians to Excellence and Greatness.” Held from October 7 to 9, the competitions showcased the talents of students across various colleges at the Rose Memorial Auditorium and the Educational Media Center.

In the Vocal Duet competition, the College of Arts and Sciences emerged as the champion, followed by the College of Hospitality Management and the College of Nursing. The College of Nursing also secured the championship in the Vocal Solo event, while the College of Business and Accountancy took first runner-up.


The College of Computer Studies wins the Extemporaneous Speaking competition, followed closely by the College of Education and College of Arts and Sciences.

The beloved Filipino poetry genre, Binalaybay, saw CPU Elementary School triumph as the champion. The College of Business and Accountancy, Senior High School, and College of Nursing earned runner-up positions.

In the English Oration category, the College of Medical Laboratory Science clinched the top spot, followed by the College of Nursing and Senior High School. The Poetry Choir competition crowned the College of Business and Accountancy as the champion, with the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering taking runner-up positions. The College of Engineering also bagged the coveted Best Conductor award.

The English Declamation category saw Junior High School emerging as the champion, with the College of Medicine and College of Nursing securing runner-up positions. In the Character Interpretation category, the College of Nursing won the championship, followed by the College of Medical Laboratory Science and College of Medicine.

Finally, in Extemporaneous Speaking, the College of Computer Studies was crowned champion, showcasing their quick thinking and eloquence. The College of Education and College of Arts and Sciences took runner-up positions.

In recognition of their achievements, winners were awarded medals, certificates, and, in some categories, cash incentives, further encouraging the spirit of healthy competition and academic excellence.

As CPU University Day 2024 continues, these literary events have undoubtedly highlighted the immense talent and competitive spirit of the university’s students. The festivities will continue until October 12, 2024, with more exciting events to come.
