The Individual may weaken at this time as the feeling of anxiety presents itself. But we believe that God holds the future.
Just as we thought the Covid-19 pandemic was going down, another surge of the deadly virus affected a lot of people, causing local government units, communities and villages to lockdown. It is affecting a lot of people and their jobs. Some would cringe at the thought of an uncertain future.
The individual may weaken at this time as the feeling of anxiety presents itself. There is this fear of the future. In times like these, we need to believe that “God holds the future.” We need to put our complete trust God so that He can make us feel secure.
The power of God cannot be overcome by anxiety. When one has accepted Jesus as his Saviour, that person will be protected by the Lord inside and out. As another test comes, there is a shuddering thought if we can survive it or not. Those without God in their lives will face it harder.
As we put our trust in the Lord, our faith will be strengthened. When we know that God loves us, we can face the world with a positive perspective. Indeed, there is an immediate cure for anxiety. It is to seek strength from the Lord.
The world may come to an end one day. This is not a comforting thought. But one can find comfort on the promise of Jesus that says, “Do not let your heart be troubled. If you believe in God, believe also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I will not tell you if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am.” These verses from John 14:1-3 tell us that we will always be with Jesus no matter what happens.
Today, as we face anxieties, let us reflect on how God fulfilled His promises before and how God will continue to fulfil it in the future. During these uncertain times, let us bow down in prayer and completely surrender everything to God. Let us seek God’s strength, and not rely on our own. As Paul wrote, “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13.
