Chris Sain Lyn Bongars, a Grade 11- STEM student, was crowned Ms. Teen Iloilo 2019 on January 21 at SM Iloilo City Cinema 6.

Bongars bested 11 other candidates who represented different municipalities in Iloilo. During the pageant, she talked about her advocacy about mental health, especially among young people. “It’s a very relevant and timely issue in our society. This is something that needs to be addressed,” she said.

She was previously Ms. CPU Junior High School in 2018 and won Ms. CPU in the same year. Bongars is also a consistent honor student while being a commercial model.

Aside from being the titleholder, Bongars also won the following awards: Miss Telegenic, Miss Photogenic, Best in Funwear and Best in Evening Gown.

She will represent Iloilo in the upcoming Miss Teen Philippines pageant.
