Chinese students who are taking their Doctor of Management degree with Dr. Althea Denuevo.

As a female teacher from a Chinese university, I decided to go abroad and study for a doctorate degree at Central Philippine University. For me, this study abroad experience is not only an academic pursuit but also a challenge to self-growth and cross-cultural communication.

At Central Philippine University, I deeply learned the advanced ideas and practical experience of business administration. The curriculum here is rich and diverse, covering strategic management, marketing, financial management, and many other fields. I was able to discuss management issues and share experiences and insights with students from different countries. This kind of cross-cultural communication makes me more deeply understand the importance of combining globalization and localization of business administration.

I am very grateful to every professor in the Graduate School, who are enthusiastic and patient with our Chinese students. Although language communication and customs are different, Central Philippine University gives our family general warmth. I think my experience is very meaningful.

In addition to academic gains, I also felt the unique cultural atmosphere of the Philippines. Filipinos are hospitable, and their friendliness and optimism make me feel at home in this strange country. I had the opportunity to taste authentic Filipino food, participate in local celebrations, and learn more about the history, culture, and society of the Philippines.

In the process of studying abroad, I also faced some challenges. Language barriers, cultural differences, and different living environments have all brought me some troubles. But I firmly believe that these challenges are what keep me growing and improving. I learned how to better communicate with the local people, how to adapt to the new living environment, and constantly improve my overall quality.

Looking back on this study abroad experience, I feel that I have gained a lot. I not only learned a wealth of business management knowledge but also broadened my horizon and enhanced my ability to cross-cultural communication. This experience has made me more confident to face future career challenges and provided me with valuable experience and inspiration for my future teaching and research work.

In the future, I plan to bring the knowledge and experience I have learned back to China and apply it in my teaching, so as to cultivate more business management talents with an international perspective. At the same time, I also hope to continue my study, constantly improve my academic level, and make greater contributions to the development of the field of business administration.

The experience of studying at Central Philippine University was a precious time in my life. I will always cherish this memory and be grateful for the growth and changes this experience has brought me. This study abroad not only allowed me to gain knowledge but also let me gain the most valuable wealth in life – cross-cultural vision and experience. These will accompany me through the years to come and become my motivation and source of continuous progress.
