Deocampo serves in a concurrent capacity as Vice Chairman of the State Council of Governors MD-301 Philippines LY 2020-2021.
The Lions Clubs International District 301-131 is now headed by a Centralian. The businessman and leader, Mr. Alfonso “Boy” T. Deocampo, Jr., is now the District Governor for LY 2020-2021.
Deocampo also serves in a concurrent capacity as Vice Chairman of the State Council of Governors MD-301 Philippines LY 2020-2021. In 2005-2006, he was awarded the Outstanding President of Metro Iloilo Lions; as Board of Director- Iloilo City Metro Lion and many other executive positions and services he rendered to Lions International, and several private corporations. Former CPU Alumni Association (CPUAAI 2018-2019) President, Mr. Dan Dorillo, who is a sparring partner of Mr. Deocampo at the Lapaz Lawn Tennis Club relayed this information.
Deocampo who comes from the leaders’ circle of Central Philippine University, said,” I am enjoying my senior years now. However, I do have some good reasons to come back to my dear Alma Mater; something that I long to do for CPU. There are many possibilities and many dreams that I hope to realize soon.”
He added, “One of my dreams was to organize a Centralian Lions Club Association based in CPU.” The Centralian leader is looking for an opportune time, possibly to help the work-study scholarship program through his club. The work-study program is one of the University programs mostly affected by the Covid pandemic.
Deocampo finished his Secondary Education (High School Batch ’65) and his Bachelor of Science in Commerce -Major in Accounting (Batch ’69) and his 3rd year Bachelor of Laws from CPU. He is happily married to Marlita Q . Deocampo. They have 7 children and four grandchildren.
