Mayor Jerry P. Treñas signed Executive Order No. 113, which establishes the 2024 Philippine Bar Examinations Coordinating Team for the Iloilo site at Central Philippine University.

On August 15, 2024, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas announced on his official Facebook page the signing of Executive Order No. 113, which establishes the 2024 Philippine Bar Examinations Coordinating Team for the Iloilo site at Central Philippine University.

CPU has been officially designated as a local testing center for the upcoming bar examinations, marking its second time hosting the exam. In relation to this, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iloilo City has pledged its full support to the university’s role as a testing center, demonstrating strong community backing. They will be providing the following committees to ensure the success and efficient implementation of the 2024 Bar Examinations: External and Area Security, Traffic Management and Barangay Coordination, Health and Disaster Risk Management, and Public Information and Social Media.

Mayor Treñas emphasized the importance of this initiative on his Facebook post: “I am pleased to sign Executive Order No. 113, which establishes the 2024 Philippine Bar Examinations Coordinating Team for the Iloilo site at Central Philippine University. This executive order ensures that Iloilo City is fully prepared to host the Bar Exams, with the necessary coordination, security, and logistical support in place to make this significant event a success.”

In the Visayas, there are only three local testing centers for the upcoming #BarNiJLo2024, including the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Basak Campus-Cebu South Road, Basak Pardo, Cebu City; Central Philippine University in Lopez Jaena Street, Jaro, Iloilo City; and Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Calanipawan Road, Barangay Calanipawan, Tacloban City.

The Centralian community, known for its growing commitment to supporting the legal community, has expressed gratitude for the support from the LGU of Iloilo City. “Thank you, Mayor Treñas, for the support of the Iloilo City government. CPU is honored to host the 2024 Bar Examinations in the region.,” CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy wrote on his Facebook post.

The bar exams are scheduled to take place on September 8, 11, and 15, and both parties have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring this endeavor’s success.
