CPU celebrates the achievements of its alumnus, Jonathan Anotado Gapilango, MSN, RN, NE-BC, OCN, CCRP, who has been awarded a prestigious nursing scholarship.
Central Philippine University (CPU) alumnus, Mr. Jonathan Anotado Gapilango MSN, RN, NE-BC, OCN, CCRP, a distinguished nurse leader and President of the Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey (PNANJ), has been awarded the 2024-2025 Doctorate Degree Scholarship from The Nurses Educational Funds, Inc.
Gapilango, who has dedicated over three decades to nursing, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey. His journey in healthcare has been marked by compassion, excellence, and a deep commitment to serving others, particularly in the oncology field.
A native of Iloilo, Gapilango completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at CPU in 1993 before moving to the United States in 1995. He has held various leadership roles in healthcare organizations, including serving as the Administrative Director of Oncology Performance Measures and Accreditation at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Director of Cancer Center Administration at Community Medical Center.
Beyond his clinical practice, Gapilango has also been an active educator, teaching at several nursing schools and serving as an adjunct professor at Central Philippine University. His dedication to sharing his knowledge and expertise has inspired countless aspiring nurses.
The NEF Scholarship is a prestigious award that recognizes Gapilango’s outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and potential to make a significant contribution to the nursing profession. With this scholarship, he will be able to further his education and continue his pursuit of excellence in nursing care.
