On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Central Philippine University delegate Dr. Necil C. Magno with Mr. Mauro Somodio, including other Centralian FAFQ Members and Griffith University delegates, made a Tour of AEIOU Foundation for Children with Autism and Griffith University Autism Center of Excellence – in Meadowbrook, Queensland, Australia.

Magno said, “It was a great opportunity to witness how the team handles children with autism. Their facility, equipment, staff, and research among others are funded and supported by the government.”

This was to be a part of Dr. Magno’s community service opportunity in Australia. Known by the Filipno-Australian Foundation of Queensland, Inc. (FAFQ) as an author and philanthropist, Dr. Magno was invited as a Resource Person for Cultural Exchange in April 2022. In 2019, Dr. Magno was also invited by FAFQ to be a resource speaker and one of the board of Judges in Ginoong and Binibining Australia.

The main purpose of her travel this time was to conduct a dance clinic for the upcoming FAFQ Charity Queen on October 22, 2022. Eventually, Dr. Magno would use some of her time to attend a partnership discussion with CPU and Griffith University. In her latest update from Queensland, Dr. Magno said that already, there is a draft of the MOU to be signed by CPU and Griffith University.

Dr. Necil Magno is a scholarship recipient of the Filipino-Australian Foundation of Queensland Inc. A family-oriented woman, Dr. Necil Magno is also recognised for her efforts and generosity through community service and outreach programs by using her earnings as an author to donate groceries, hygiene kits, educational resources and financial assistance to students and other community members in need.
