CPU unveils major events for University Day 2024.
Central Philippine University (CPU) is celebrating University Day 2024 under the theme “The Unyielding Central Spirit: Spurring Centralians to Excellence and Greatness,” with a series of vibrant events showcasing the talent and spirit of the university community.
The festivities began with the highly anticipated Poetry Choir competition on October 7, 2024, held at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The event featured spirited performances from various colleges, with the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) emerging as the champion. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) secured the first runner-up position, while the College of Engineering (COE) claimed second runner-up. The Junior High School (JHS) and the College of Nursing (CON) followed closely as third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Today, October 11, 2024, offers an exciting array of activities for students and faculty alike. The day begins with a Foot Parade off-campus, encouraging a sense of community and school spirit as students showcase their creativity and camaraderie.
Following the parade, the Street Dance will electrify the atmosphere on CPU Roads, allowing students to express themselves through lively choreography. Meanwhile, a Picnic is set to unfold on campus, offering a perfect opportunity for everyone to unwind and enjoy good food and company.
In the afternoon, the Folk Dance event will take place at the Rose Memorial Auditorium from 1 PM to 3 PM, showcasing traditional dances that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. The festivities will continue later with an exciting Hip Hop dance event, also hosted at the auditorium, featuring energetic performances from talented students.
The celebrations will culminate tomorrow, October 12, 2024, with the Choral competition at the Rose Memorial Auditorium from 3 PM to 5 PM, providing a platform for students to exhibit their musical talents.
University Day 2024 at CPU is not just a celebration of academic achievements; it is a testament to the vibrant culture and unity of the university community. As the events unfold, students, faculty, and alumni come together to foster lasting memories and celebrate the essence of CPU.
