Members of Team SL2P (in black shirts), with Mr. Cyrus Natividad, program host of Looking Forward, a CPUTV Public Affairs Program.

Curiosity is the fuel that sparks discovery, inquiry, and learning. This is the very reason that has led us to join various competitions that challenge our knowledge and creativity, most notably the Microsoft Imagine Cup.

We look forward to our development, be it through failure, challenges, or success, and we are particularly excited to join the next global Artificial Intelligence Competition. We find joy in exploring the vast applications of technology such as web development, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and others.

This curiosity led us to be interviewed by Mr. Cyrus Natividad on his program, Looking Forward, a CPUTV Public Affairs Program on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. We would like to give credit and utmost appreciation for the overwhelming support of Dean Dany Molina of the CPU College of Engineering. Furthermore, the development of our project would not have been well-organized if it were not for the Dean and the support of the CPU Engineering Department. We also appreciate and give thanks for the hospitable accommodation and assistance of Ma’am Nestle Taala, Sir Joere Maleriado, and the rest of the crew at the CPU TV Channel Studio.

The interview began with a curious discussion on the advancement of the technology we used, particularly artificial intelligence, and its potential implications for various fields in the future. This continued on with the details of our project, how it works, and its impact. Interestingly, the conversation moved towards the team and their personal experiences involving technology and what led to the success of Project Illuminate.

Our team is composed of four students from the Google Developers Students’ Club (GDSC) – CPU. The members include: Rafael III Prudente, a second-year BS Software Engineering student and the GDSC president/lead; Mykiell Deovenn Pagayonan, a first-year BS Software Engineering student and the club Marketing Head; Matthew B. Ledesma, also a first-year BS Software Engineering student and the club Researcher/Developer; and Justin Santos, a third-year BS Computer Science student and one of the club’s developers.
