CPU SGS hosts research colloquium on “Evolving Research Realities”

On November 9, 2024, participants of the research colloquium, centered around the theme “Evolving Research Realities,” gather for a photo opportunity with their keynote speaker, Dr. Mary Ann M. De La Vega, Associate Professor V of West Visayas State University, along with CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio.

The CPU School of Graduate Studies, in collaboration with its Doctor of Management in Public Management, Master in Public Administration, and Master of Science in Social Work programs, along with the CPU University Research Center, successfully hosted a research colloquium on November 9, 2024. The event was held at the CPU Senior High School AVR and featured the participation of Universitas Merdeka, Indonesia’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sukardi, who joined via Zoom teleconference.

With the theme “Evolving Research Realities,” the colloquium provided a platform for meaningful discourse on the dynamic and shifting landscapes of research. Dr. Sukardi, a recognized expert in public management, was personally invited by CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, to serve as a member of the research defense panel.

“The activity aimed to foster academic dialogue, disseminate research findings, and promote research utilization,” CPU School of Graduate Studies wrote on their official Facebook page.

The event also featured a keynote address by Dr. Mary Ann M. De La Vega, Associate Professor V and Project Coordinator of West Visayas State University’s Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras project. Dr. De La Vega, who also served as a panelist, were alongside with Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Evelyn Grace Ayson, Director of the University Research Center; and Dr. Sukardi of Universitas Merdeka.

The success of the research colloquium is another important milestone in the growing partnership between the two institutions toward strengthening academic ties and fostering international cooperation.
