With pride and celebration, Central Philippine University (CPU) Junior High School held its annual Recognition Day on April 10, 2025, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, honoring the hard work, perseverance, and outstanding achievements of its student awardees.

The ceremony began with a processional of student awardees, guests, school administrators, and faculty members, setting a tone of reverence and pride. Keziah Yzabelle A. Callao of Grade 10 – Earth led the doxology, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and an invocation by JHS faculty member Mrs. Romela Kim G. Java.

Engr. Dany C. Molina, Vice President for Administration and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the President, delivered the words of welcome and an inspirational message on behalf of University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, who is currently on official travel. In his message, he extended the administration’s warm congratulations to the awardees and their families, acknowledging the essential role of parents, guardians, and educators in shaping the students’ journeys.

“To our awardees, you worked so hard and pushed your abilities to the limit to make this success happen. Your perseverance is an inspiration to everyone you meet,” Engr. Molina said. He emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in student development, underscoring CPU’s commitment to a holistic Christian education that nurtures academic, spiritual, moral, and social growth.

He also took time to appreciate the unwavering support of parents and the dedication of the JHS faculty and staff, who have continuously fostered a nurturing and encouraging learning environment for all students. Quoting Psalm 118:24, he reminded everyone to celebrate the blessings of the day and trust in God’s plan for each learner.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of students who excelled in various fields such as academics and literature, music, journalism, leadership, scouting, sports and athletics, as well as recipients of special awards. Each awardee was honored not only for their talent and performance but also for bringing pride to CPU and their families.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the Alma Mater Song and the CPU Junior High School Hymn, performed by Justine Kate D. Fuertes. The closing prayer was led by Mrs. Daisy Lyn C. Palmejar, JHS faculty member, followed by the recessional.

The program was smoothly facilitated by Mrs. Ruth G. Gicaraya, Junior High School faculty member, who served as the Master of Ceremony.

CPU JHS continues its celebration of student achievement with the Honors and Awards Day on April 11, 2025, at 8:00 AM, followed by the Moving Up Ceremony on April 14, 2025, at 3:30 PM.

For incoming students, the CPU Junior High School entrance examinations are scheduled on April 12 and 25; May 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30; and June 4 and 6, 2025. Meanwhile, the SSC Qualifying Exam and Interview will be held on May 26 and 28, 2025.

The event was not only a celebration of student success but also a testament to CPU’s mission of nurturing lives for meaningful service.
