Opportunities for improvement – Central Philippine University conducted the 32nd Management Review Board Meeting, a year-end Management Review (as of July 31, 2023) for Academic Year (AY) 2022-2023 on September 19 to 20, 2023 at the Henry Luce III Library (HLL) Conference Room.

This undertaking, led by the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC), aimed to review the status of actions from previous management; review changes in external and internal issues that are relevant to the quality management system; and recommend improvement, among others.

On its first day, the meeting was officially started by a short meditation led by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian. He encouraged the board, the unit heads, and other significant participants, “not to drop the baton” as this institution continues to move forward to greater heights, as seen in the leadership lessons from the life of Moses.

Day 2 – The Management Review Board, the unit heads, CPU adminstrators with CPU BOT Member Engr. Cañuto.

During the meeting, the Management Review Board and the Unit Heads were given the chance to present different reports or updates from their respective offices. Such reports were then affirmed and evaluated by the body by asking questions and clarifications. In this way, actions may be taken to address risks and opportunities being faced by CPU.

This year-end Management Review was graced by CPU administrators Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice President for Student Affairs and OIC of the Office of the President; Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Finance and Administration; and Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, Vice President for Academic Affairs. University President Dr. Teodoro Robles was also able to attend via Zoom Teleconferencing.

Also, CPU Corporation member Dr. Expedito Señeres and CPU Board of Trustees member Engr. Eddie Cañuto were able to attend the meeting on September 19 and 20, respectively.

The Management Review Board Meeting is one of CPU’s ways to assess and monitor its quality management system as the University aims to achieve its goal as one of the country’s top higher education institutions in terms of the number of programs certified as Centers of Development and Centers of Excellence by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); ranking in the QS and Times Higher Education Impact Ranking systems; number of accredited degree programs; and CHED autonomous status, among others.
