The University Outreach Week is anchored in Program ERNEST, a university-structured initiative based on six pillars: Education, Resource Utilization, Nurturance, Environment, Social welfare, and Technology transfer. Outreach events highlight various activities and programs orchestrated by the University’s student organizations, colleges, departments, and units.
The Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center of Central Philippine University established the University Outreach Week in compliance with the Republic Act No. 7722, also known as the Higher Education Act of 1994, where extension is one of the mandated functions of tertiary education institutions aside from instruction and research.
