Central Philippine University marks its 119th Foundation Day with vibrant activities, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and staff in a celebration of unity, history, and forward-looking spirit.

Last October 1, 2024, Central Philippine University (CPU) marked its 119th Foundation Day with solemnity and a forward-looking spirit. The celebration began at 6:00 a.m. with a wreath-laying and memorial service held at the Filipino – American Cemetery in Jaro, Iloilo City. The event honored the founders, alumni, and individuals whose dedication has contributed significantly to the university’s legacy.

Building upon this tradition, CPU is set to celebrate University Week 2024, slated from October 7 to 12, with a series of fun-filled and nostalgic activities that foster unity among students, alumni, faculty, and the entire CPU community. The activities kick off on October 7, 2024, with a Fun Run, encouraging participants to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle while promoting camaraderie among students and staff. This event has become a popular opening ceremony for the University Week.

On October 11, 2024 (Friday), the campus will come alive with a Foot Parade and Picnic. To ensure full participation, classes in all levels will be suspended for the day, allowing students, faculty, and staff to come together in a vibrant parade and picnic that embodies the festive spirit of the CPU family.

The week concludes on a nostalgic note with the 2024 Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly on October 12, 2024 (Saturday) at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The event will bring together generations of CPU graduates, providing an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the bonds formed during their time at the university. Classes, except for those in the College of Law, will also be suspended on this day to accommodate the celebration.

The 119th Foundation Day and University Week celebrate CPU’s enduring spirit of faith, excellence, and commitment to nurturing future generations.
