What are the chances of meeting someone who could change your life and inspire you in a lot of ways? And what are the odds of becoming a beacon of hope and touching many lives through acts of kindness?

On April 28, 2023, CPU Civil Engineering 1990 Alumni President Vilma N. Clave met with the CPU CE ‘90 Scholars Lanz Fredrich Palacios (BS Nursing 3), Jessa Belle Jinon (BS Nursing 2), and Niche Clarisse Jover (AB PSPA 2) at the Office of Student Development and Programs together with Dr. Margen Java, Director of the said office.

Mrs. Clave had a meaningful conversation with the students wherein she shared how she also started as a scholar in CPU, her struggles, and how she values hard work, which led her to where she is right now, as an engineer, a wife, a pastor, and a mother to her children. It was a great conversation wherein the students also shared about themselves and how they are doing with their academics and other extracurricular activities.

“Magtinguha gid, because who knows, someday, kamo naman ang makabulig sa iban nga estudyante” was one of the few words from Mrs. Clave that she imparts among them with her five tips on how to succeed in life, which also include determination, discipline, hard work, and most importantly, faith.

Scholarships and other student-related programs are among the few opportunities that can help students fulfill their dreams of becoming who they want to be in the future. This deed creates ripples of hope and makes a difference in the community—living the Centralian Spirit throughout our lives, whenever and wherever we are.
