CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and CPUGAD TBI Team with Expertise France representatives.
On September 26, 2024, Expertise France, a French public agency for the design and implementation of international technical cooperation projects, visited CPU and met with University President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and members of the CPUGAD TBI Team. The aim of the meeting was for Expertise France, represented by Ms. Maylis Charlat, Project Leader and Ms. Jennifer Jones, Project Manager, to know more about the activities and services of CPUGAD TBI and explore areas for potential collaboration.
Expertise France is currently implementing a project in the Philippines – the EU-PH Partnership for Green Economy: Green Business, Infrastructure and Finance. This project is part of the 60-million-euro Green Economy Programme in the Philippines (GEPP) funded by the European Union. GEPP aims to support the Philippines’ transition towards a green economy through the concept of circular economy, reduction of waste and plastic, increase in energy efficiency, and deployment of renewable energy to help mitigate the effects of climate change. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is the lead executing agency for this project.
At present, Expertise France is working with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on a Green and Circular Economy Transformation Diagnostic in order to understand the current situation of traditional and existing businesses to help them transition from the linear mode to a circular one with waste reduction as the primary goal.
Dr. Dagohoy welcomed this exploratory meeting with Expertise France, and he looks forward to CPU’s collaboration with the European agency through the CPUGAD TBI Team and other academic units of the university.
