CPU is one of the new HEIs that joined the list of Asia’s best in the 2021 QS rankings.

Central Philippine University joins the list of 14 PH universities that landed a spot in Asia’s best higher education institutions (HEIs).

The results were released by Quacquarelli Symonds’ (QS) university rankings on November 25, 2020.

CPU is the only HEI in Western Visayas included in the ranking.

CPU earned a place in the 601+ bracket together with Adamson University, Central Luzon State University, Central Mindanao University, and Xavier University, which were not part of the previous rankings.

Other PH universities included in the ranking are the University of the Philippines (69), Ateneo de Manila University (135), De La Salle University (166), and the University of Santo Tomas (186).

Joining the 501-550 bracket are Ateneo de Davao University, Mapua University, and Silliman University. The Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology stood in the 551-600 bracket and the University of San Carlos in the 451-500 bracket.

“Since 2016, many HEIs have gained increased exposure and visibility by attending educational fairs and international conferences, mobilizing student and faculty exchanges, and building strategic partnerships and linkages which have contributed to the fulfillment of this wonderful achievement”, said Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman J Prospero E. De Vera III.

De Vera III also said that the internationalization of Philippine Higher Education Institutions has been one of the key strategies of the Duterte administration in improving quality education.
