Jennifer Erika P. Angeles, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work graduate from the College of Arts and Sciences, secures the Top 3 spot in the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) for 2024, awarded by TRAC, Inc.

Centralian Jennifer Erika P. Angeles, a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the College of Arts and Sciences, has been honored as one of the Top 3 Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) for 2024 awarded by Transforming Advocates and Champions (TRAC), Inc. The ceremony was held at the Venus Parkview Hotel in Baguio City on October 4, 2024, celebrating her remarkable contributions to student leadership and social advocacy.

Following months of careful evaluation among 200 candidates, Angeles was first acknowledged as one of the Top 25. Her exceptional involvement and leadership in her community ultimately led her to achieve an impressive third place ranking overall.

In an online interview, Angeles discussed her preparations and expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I do believe that my years as a student at the same time as someone who is passionate in serving others, prepared me for this, and lead me to this great opportunity. I am always sincere and dedicated on my work. I didn’t anticipate this one, but grateful to be part of it. It feels like my effort, and the people who are with me all throughout my journey were recognized because of this. I am happy and blessed.”

She also revealed that she nearly decided against applying due to the challenges she faced. However, her family and a few close friends encouraged her to submit her application. Although she hesitated, feeling tired and overwhelmed by her other commitments, their unwavering belief in her recharged her spirit. This motivation inspired her to embrace every opportunity and strive to make them proud.

Her message to the Centralian community was heartfelt: “I am truly grateful for everyone who has supported me, especially those who believed and still believe. I always thank the Lord for the gift of life and the people he has given me. My advice and message to the Central Community is that, thank you for letting us your students to have opportunities such as this, I myself is truly grateful of everything that the institution had instilled to me, I wouldn’t [be] able to achieve these awards of mine, without the support and help of Central.”

Angeles’ achievement highlights the importance of dedication and perseverance, serving as a testament to what can be accomplished with hard work and commitment – qualities that truly embody the Central Spirit.
