Centralian Antique PSWDO Larry Petinglay – newly elected member of the Board of Trustees of ALSWDOPI in Davao City.
Lazaro G. Petinglay, RSW,MSSW, CPU BS Social Work Batch1989) is newly elected as one of the members of the National Board of Trustees of the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWDOPI). The professional organization includes the Provincial, City and Municipal Welfare Officers all over the country and public social workers – with the aim to enhance their capacity in the delivery of social services.
ALSWDOPI strengthens cooperation and collaboration which complements both local and international services. It enables members’ competency and embrace culture of professionalism in social – ethical practice. Petinglay is one of the 15 elected to the board last August 17, 2023 in Lanag, SMX, SM City, Davao City.
Currently the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer of the Province of Antique, Petinglay is the President of the CPU Social Work Alumni Association; soon to complete his Doctor in Management at CPU. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Antique Christian Center, and a Member of the Committee of the Development Ministries, CPBCI.
He encourages people to “serve now”, leave a legacy and invest for the kingdom of God. Petinglay’s philosophy was inspired by a popular line in Desiderata, “Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortune of time.” His wife Annabel (PNA Director for Antique) is soon to graduate in a Doctoral degree in Philosophy specialized in Education.
Lazaro Petinglay is a native of San Rafael, San Remigio where his brother Eduardson Petinglay is elected as Vice Mayor. He is happily married to fellow Antique Centralian, Annabel Consuelo Masa Java Petinglay (CPU AB English, 1990). They have one scholastic son Lazaro Petinglay, Jr., in grade 3 at the Antique Christian Center, Inc.
