“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)
Baby Love was born with only one leg. She was born in Brgy. Biri Sur, Leon, Iloilo on April 4, 1998. She is one of five children, four daughters and a son, of Rosalie and Polgie Cabaya. All children are caring towards one another and their family, helping their father, a vendor, and their mother a housewife.
The Cabaya’s used to rent a farm from which the family primarily earned their living. They produced vegetables and other crops. Unfortunately, the landowner decided to take back the farm. This left the Cabaya family in a quandary. It became difficult for the children to go to school. For Baby Love, a student with disability, the unfortunate loss of the land was doubly difficult. She had to struggle to go to school with her crutches, even as her sisters and brother take turns in bringing her to school.
It seemed that the Cabaya children could only rely on their faith and perseverance. For Baby Love, now 20, poverty and disability did not stop her from seeking the means to get into college. She continued to pray hard for God to give her a chance as the enrollment for the first semester of 2018-2019 got nearer. She kept reminding herself that the Bible said, “Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened into you…” (Matthew 7:7–8).

She went around in crutches alone, riding the jeepney, looking for people who could help her find, if possible, a job so that she could earn money for her enrollment. A friend had compassion for her and brought her to apply to the CPU Work-Study Program entrance examination.
She passed the exam and found guidance in Prof. Annalie G. Gilongos, CPU Work Students Coordinator, who allowed her into the scholarship program. Dr. Teodoro C. Robles, CPU President, personally took note of the challenges of her situation and authorized her assignment at the cataloging section in the Henry Luce III Library where she can work comfortably and safely. She has also been assured of free food, courtesy of Mrs. Angel Robles, who generously facilitates the God’s Grace Program in CPU.
Baby Love graduated from the Omambong Elementary School, and attended her secondary education in Leon National High School. She is fulfilling her dream, having enrolled in the BS Accountancy program of CPU. She believes that with God, “nothing is impossible.”
