Josh Nathan H. Consebit, Magna Cum Laude delivered a Response in behalf of the Graduating Class.

The Baccalaureate Service for CPU College of Medical Laboratory Science for the graduates of the 2nd Semester SY 2017-2018 was held on June 24, 2018 at the University Church. The processional started at 9:30 AM with graduating students, faculty, staff, administrators, and worship participants in attendance.

Rev. Roger T. Quimpo, Associate Pastor, University Church, and Dr. Teodoro C. Robles, CPU President, welcomed the graduates, deans, and members of the Church Council.

Rev. Quimpo encouraged the graduates to experience renewal after years of sacrifices in order to graduate.

Dr. Robles in his welcome remarks invoked the responsibility of the graduates to “give thanks to the Lord for His unceasing faithfulness.” He also thanked “Central Philippine University for its continuous molding of young lives for God’s glory.” He also emphasized that all the knowledge the students have gained would be useless unless it is anchored in the Lord.

Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor, University Church encouraged the graduates to trust in the promises of God.

The University Church Choir rendered the song by Tom Fette, “You are the Light,” with Joshua Jonathan C. Quimpo conducting. Joy G. Raso led the invocation with hymns of praise. Ted Rudi G. Aurelio, Cum Laude, led the Litany of Praise, which was followed by a scripture reading from the book of Luke 21:5-19 by Thalna I. Cadagat, Cum Laude.

The baccalaureate speaker, Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, was introduced by Ma. Corazon P. Porras, Dean of the College of Medical Laboratory. Rev. Sian, Senior Pastor, University Church, related his sermon to the biblical passage from Luke 21, relating it to the assurance of God’s protection for those who love Him. His message was about “A Faithful Promise in Unpredictable Circumstances.”

Rev. Sian also spoke of the essentials to bring along in the journey towards success in order “to finish strong.” He advised the graduates to place importance on the basic physical and spiritual needs of the human body, including sleep and prayer.

Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor, University Church congratulated the graduates for a new milestone in their lives.

Josh Nathan H. Consebit, Magna Cum Laude, delivered a response on behalf of the graduating class. In his reflection, Consebit shared his experiences in CPU and how his gratefulness to God helped him to achieve the honor he has received. He considered life as a journey that had to be enjoyed especially if there is guidance from God.

The Offertory was led by Pastor Mary Grace F. Labis, Associate Pastor, University Church, with special music by Joshua Jireh V. Francia. Rev. Sian commissioned the graduates and offered a Prayer of Dedication. Rev. Roger T. Quimpo led the closing prayer and Benediction. The Baccalaureate ended with the Recessional.
