Central Philippine University students, faculty, and staff were invited by the Iloilo City Police Office to join in a “walk for a cause” activity on Saturday June 2, 2018. Centralian Alumni Police S/Supt. Henry F. Biñas, Acting City Director said, “It is a 2-km walk for a cause dubbed as ‘Lakat Bulig sa Tropa,’ which will start at 5:00 AM from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol, Iloilo City to Esplanade in Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City”.

The “Lakat Bulig sa Tropa” is a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management advocacy of Iloilo City Police Office through the Iloilo City Advisory Council for Police Transformation and Development Project: Pagtib-ong sa Biktima sang Trahedya. It aims to assist PNP personnel who are victims of natural or man-made disasters.

On May 6, 2018, a member of the PNP assigned in La Paz, Iloilo City Police Station, SPO2 Richard N. Gerafusco, lost his wife and son and three other members of his family in a fire incident. This is why the Iloilo City Police Office is requesting for moral and/or financial support.

A minimal registration fee of PhP50.00 is required for participants in the walk for a cause, and a T-shirt will be available for PhP200.00 only.
