CPU Elementary School bags Championship in RCJW and Golden Pen Awards

The elementary winners together with Vice President for Student Affairs, Rev. Joniel Howard H. Gico, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio and CPU Elementary School Principal, Prof. Janet P. Jaco.

The Central Philippine University Elementary School was hailed as the over-all champion of the Regional Cluster Journalism Workshop and Golden Pen Awards held by the Department of Education, Region VI at Robinsons Place, Jaro on July 7-8, 2018.

CPU got 117 points claiming the top spot in the elementary level. The university bagged the most number of wins in the editorial, news, and feature writing competitions and was hailed as the top performing school for the elementary category. On July 13, 2018, the winners had a courtesy call with Vice President for Student Affairs, Rev. Joniel Howard H. Gico.

Rev. Gico congratulated the winners and thanked them for bringing glory to God and honor to the university, “I thank you for bringing pride to the university. And we continue to pray that wherever God places you, your lives will bring him praise and honor.”

CPU Elementary School Principal, Prof. Janet P. Jaco, expressed her joy and delight for the accomplishments of her students, “I’m just so blessed to have these talented children. This year, we involved the Grades 4, 5, and 6 to train the younger kids in preparation when they graduate. The training really starts in the classroom and with the help and support of parents we have this accomplishment. It’s really a joint effort.”
