Danielle Liza Garingalao Molina, the valedictorian of CPU Elementary School Batch 2010, attended the Harvard Project for Asia and International Relations (HPAIR) 2018 Harvard Conference at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 16-19, 2018.
Molina is the daughter of Engr. Dany C. Molina, Dean of the CPU College of Engineering, and Dr. Felice Garingalao-Molina, an internist and an infectious diseases specialist and the former president of the CPUAAI.
According to Molina, the application process began with an essay detailing her stance on global issues, the importance of youth leadership, and capacity and motivation to apply whatever was learned in the conference back in your home country. After the first round of essay, video interviews were conducted where she explained her interest in her track of choice, Health and Social Policy, and the pertinent issues in the Philippines regarding that track.
Molina is part of the 300 student leaders all around the globe gathered by the conference to discuss vital economic, political, and social issues currently being experienced by the Asia-Pacific Region: “I was able to participate in discussions regarding the World’s Water Shortage and Sanitation Problem as well as the Dilemma Between Modern and Alternative Medicine headed by renowned professionals, NGO executives, and doctors in those fields.”
The HPAIR is an educational forum gathering students and young professionals around the world to fuel young minds and to discuss innovations and solutions on global challenges.
