The Central Philippine University (CPU) delegation visited Tra Vinh University (TVU) in Long Vinh Province, Vietnam for an Academic and Research Collaboration engagement from April 20 to 22, 2026.
On the first day, the CPU delegation was formally welcomed through a campus tour of Tra Vinh University, showcasing its academic facilities, laboratories, and learning environment, guided by Mr. Nhan Nhuyen. This was followed by an opening program presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who warmly welcomed them and emphasized the importance of strengthening global academic partnerships.
A key highlight of the initial day was the discussion led by the International Education Institute, focusing on opportunities for academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and enhanced institutional cooperation between CPU and TVU.
The second day featured lectures, classroom observations, research collaboration discussions, and sessions on Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), faculty and student exchange programs, and best practices in teaching and research. The CPU delegation actively participated in discipline-based engagements, including Agriculture and Aquaculture, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Languages, Culture and Arts, Information Technology, and Education, along with presentations, laboratory visits, and academic exchanges.
An introduction of key officials and representatives from both Central Philippine University (CPU) and Tra Vinh University (TVU) was conducted to establish rapport and strengthen collaboration across various academic disciplines.
The final day included a site visit to TVU Hospital with the Faculty of Nursing, continued collaborative discussions, and field visits to local wards. Additional coordination meetings and academic exchanges further strengthened institutional collaboration between the two universities.
The CPU delegation was composed of faculty members from various colleges and disciplines: Assoc. Prof. Melba C. Sale, Assoc. Prof. Janette E. Yap, Dr. Sarla Duller, Dr. Ma. Corazon P. Porras, and Asst. Prof. Xenia Louise Joy B. Assin for Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Pharmacy; Dr. Jaime C. Cabarles Jr., Ms. Danna Marie E. Gabasa, and Ms. Allyssa M. Depasupil for Agriculture and Aquaculture; Asst. Prof. Cherrilyn M. Macairan for Life Sciences (Basic Sciences); Dr. Annalee L. Cocjin for Languages, Culture and Arts; Assoc. Prof. Rose Leah Joy A. Ojacastro and Assoc. Prof. Ma. Christina A. Quijano for Information Technology; and Dr. Maredil R. Ambos for Education.
The three-day engagement reaffirmed CPU’s commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and sustained global partnerships through meaningful collaboration with Tra Vinh University.
