On March 27, 2026, the Central Philippine University Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center (CPU LILAC), in partnership with the College of Computer Studies, hosted a lecture on emerging agricultural technologies at the Mary Thomas Audio Visual Room.
Dr. Muhamad Arifin Bin Mansor of the National Institute of Technology, Sasebo College in Nagasaki, Japan, delivered a presentation titled “Super Smart Farming: New Era of Agriculture,” highlighting innovations that are transforming modern farming practices. His lecture focused on the integration of advanced technologies in open-environment farming, particularly in the Japanese context.
Dr. Muhamad Arifin Bin Mansor of the National Institute of Technology, Sasebo College in Nagasaki, Japan, delivers his lecture on “Super Smart Farming: New Era of Agriculture,” highlighting the role of emerging technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, and robotics in transforming modern agricultural practices.
In his presentation, Dr. Mansor discussed how the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT), drones, artificial intelligence, and robotics is reshaping the agricultural sector. He emphasized that these technologies significantly reduce reliance on manual labor, minimize resource waste, and enhance overall productivity and crop yields.
The event gathered faculty members and students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS), College of Engineering (COE), and College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences (CARES) providing them with valuable insights into the future of agriculture and the role of technology in sustainable farming practices.
The lecture forms part of CPU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international linkages and promote interdisciplinary learning, equipping students and faculty with global perspectives and innovative approaches in their respective fields.
