On April 8, 2026, Central Philippine University held its Professorial Chair and Incentive Awards for Academic Year 2025–2026, anchored on the theme “Legacy of Excellence: Honoring Minds That Inspire and Transform,” at the Conference Room of the Educational Media Center.

This year, a total of forty-one (41) awardees were honored, including 13 Professorial Chair Awardees and 28 Incentive Awardees. The program began with photo opportunities, followed by the processional. Assoc. Prof. Rea Angelica F. Villeza, a faculty member from the College of Theology, delivered the invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the CPU Alma Mater song, conducted by Mrs. Ma. Christine T. Gentozo, a faculty member from the Kindergarten Department.

Afterward, University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy delivered his welcome remarks and greetings.

“Our gathering today is a reminder that Central Philippine University places a high premium on excellence, but the core value of Excellence must also be coupled with the other core values of the University, namely: Faith, Character, Justice, and Stewardship. The call to embody these values is not just for our awardees today but for all of us who are part of this academic community,” Rev. Dr. Dagohoy highlighted.

Ms. Gazelle V. Arisorenas, a faculty member from the Senior High School, then introduced the meditation speaker, Pastor Neva Grace L. Fabila, Associate Pastor of the University Church. In her message, Pastor Fabila congratulated the awardees and expressed hope that they share the same dream and goal of serving CPU by intentionally living a lasting legacy of values that will shape future generations.

“I pray that in the present, while we live, we will make the best out of the gift we received from God for the good of humanity and our community, allowing our words and service to reflect how we give God the honor and glory in serving His people,” Pastor Fabila added.

Dr. Jet R. Nillos, Chairperson of the PCIA Committee, delivered the event’s rationale and background. She emphasized that the gathering was a meaningful occasion recognizing the outstanding achievements, scholarly contributions, and unwavering dedication of faculty members. She also noted that the ceremony serves as a vital mechanism for promoting a culture of research, intellectual growth, and academic leadership.

“It recognizes faculty members who have demonstrated exemplary performance in teaching, research, publication, and extension services,” Dr. Nillos added.

The awarding of the Incentive Awardees was led by Rev. Dr. Dagohoy, assisted by Engr. Dany C. Molina, Vice President for Administration; Dr. Merle L. Junsay, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice President for Student Affairs; and Dr. Aries Roda D. Romallosa, Acting Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension.
