CPU COED academic excellence awardees together with their proud parents.
On April 8, 2026, The Central Philippine University – College of Education (CPU-COED) celebrated Handuraw kag Padya 2026 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, with the theme, “COEducators: Celebrating EXCELlence, Leadership, and Service.”
The program started with a devotional led by Faith and Rhythm, COED’s Praise and Worship Team, and words of enlightenment from devotional speaker, Pastor Louvel Edson L. Caspe. The parade of colors marked the formal opening of the program, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and CPU Hymn.
OIC Dean Dr. Maredil R. Ambos, gave an opening remark, followed by a special message from the VP of Academic Affairs, Dr. Merle L. Junsay, encouraging the students to excel with integrity and let the CPU values resonate with everything that they think, do, and plan for.
Ms. Charisse Imperial Openiano, the guest speaker, delivered an empowering and inspiring message to the attendees, emphasizing the need to strive for excellence and personal growth.
The heart of the event was the awarding of medals and certificates to recognize academic excellence awardees, student leaders, and talents who represented the COED in sports, arts, and special distinction. Danielle Virl Idemne spoke on behalf of all awardees, expressing profound gratitude and appreciation for the recognition.
The program concluded with a closing remark from Arsiel De Guzman, COED Vice Governor and Chairperson of Handuraw kag Padya 2026, followed by a closing prayer led by Dr. Eden P. Gomez.
