Newly-elected CPUR 2026 Nationals officials stand alongside members of COMELEC during their official proclamation.
After weeks of campaigning, the 2026 CPUR Elections reached their conclusion at the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park on April 1, 2026. Organized by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the official proclamation ceremony was charged with excitement as the newly elected officials and their supporters gathered to witness the new faces of the 22nd Parliament.
The proceedings began with the solemn entrance of the Commission, followed by an invocation led by Commissioner Mary Anne Bergancia and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the CPU Alma Mater Song. To formalize the results, Commissioner Maegan Chloe Tarran read Resolution No. 11-2026, which detailed the official canvass and proclamation of winners for all elective positions following the national and local polls held on March 27, 2026.
Leading the new administration, Reanna Gabrielle S. Guanzon was proclaimed President, alongside Lyndon John M. Coronado as Vice President. Joining the executive branch are the eight newly elected Senators: Sam Isaac E. Alog, Chiara Belle J. Cabiten, Arsiel Y. De Guzman, Joshua Ariel G. Hortillas, Winnielyn G. Lencioco, Raeva Grace J. Mandal, Darleen Nicole A. Panizales, and John Lloyd T. Panizales.
Newly elected officials applaud their colleagues as they are formally recognized.
The ceremony also saw the official proclamation of local government winners from the Colleges of CAS, CBA, CCS, CHM, CMLS, COE, COED, COL, COM, CON, COP, JHS, and SHS, solidifying the leadership structure across the entire University.
For the winners, the road to the Republic was as grueling as it was rewarding. “[The campaign] was very tiring because it was a month long and overlapped with midterm examinations,” President Guanzon shared. Despite the exhaustion, she described the victory as a profound honor. “At the end of the day, it was very fulfilling… it’s the Centralians who chose us.”
Vice President Coronado reflected on his three-year journey to return to the Republic, expressing his eagerness to collaborate with President Guanzon and the Parliament. Both leaders emphasized a shared commitment to accountability, vowing to fulfill the promises laid out in their respective platforms and to address the pressing issues facing the student body.
In her closing remarks, COMELEC Chairperson Herna Marie Lapu-os challenged the officials to look beyond the prestige of their roles. She urged the 22nd Parliament to lead with sincerity, noting that their positions should be defined by service to their constituents rather than mere citations on a curriculum vitae. She encouraged them to set aside political differences and work collectively for the greater good of the University.
As the COMELEC exited the stage, the ceremony concluded not just as a tally of votes, but as the beginning of a new chapter for the student body. As these officials assume their positions, they carry the mandate to lead beyond the self, beyond political colors, and beyond the limits of personal ambition to serve the spirit of the Centralian Republic.
