SEARCH FOR GRAND ALUMNI HOMECOMING QUEEN 2020 “SUPPORT A PROJECT FOR A GREATER CENTRAL”

GUIDELINES

1. Nomination of contestant is according to batch or year of graduation.
 Batches from the same degree or program may combine or merge and nominate one contestant, but in no case shall merging of batches be more than 3 batches
 Example: BSN 1971, 1975 and 1978 = one (1) nominee

2. Proceeds (100%) will go towards the project that is approved by the university.
APPROVED PROJECTS as of May 6, 2019:
a) Nursing Virtual Laboratory Phase 1
b) Nursing Virtual Laboratory Phase 2
c) ECG/EKG Machine for Medical Clinic
d) Anatomage Table for the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science

3. A letter addressed to Dr. Teodoro C. Robles stating the official contestant’s name, Official Representative of the Batch and project to be supported must be submitted on or before July 31, 2019. It can be submitted personally to the Office of the President or via e-mail (homecoming@cpu.edu.ph).

4. Souvenir program ad placement proceeds in support of a specified contestant will be counted in favor of that contestant, but net proceeds will go towards the SOW A SEED Project.

5. After the last canvassing, the contestant with the highest fund shall be proclaimed as Ms. Grand Alumni Homecoming Queen 2020. The coronation will be held on February 7, 2020 at the Grand Alumni Homecoming 2020 Gala Night.

6. Nine (9) runners-up shall be proclaimed as Ms. EXCEL (1st runner-up), Ms. CPU Scientia et Fides (2nd runner-up), Ms. CPU Central Spirit (3rd runner-up), Ms. CPU Gold and Blue (4th runner-up), Ms. CPU Faith (5th runner-up), Ms. CPU Stewardship (6th runner-up), Ms. CPU Justice (7th runner-up), Ms. CPU Character (8th runner-up), Ms. CPU Excellence (9th runner-up).

7. In case there is a tie for the Top 2 spots after the third and final round of canvassing, the committee will inform the batch/group representative of the contestants concerned at 3:00 pm of February 7, 2020. The batches/groups concerned will be given time to generate more funds to break the tie. Final acceptance of tie-breaking funds will be at 6:00pm on February 7, 2020. If the tie concerns contestants ranked 3rd and lower, drawing of lots will break the
tie.

MONEY CONTEST AND CANVASSING RULES

1. One Peso is equivalent to one vote.
 If the donation is in US Dollar, conversion rate is based on the day the remittance is received in CPU.

2. Beginning August 1, 2019 contestants and supporters of contestants may start building their respective funds to support the bid of the contestant, so as not to be eliminated from the contest.

3. Donations in Philippine Peso may be deposited to the CPU Business Office through Account Number 9812 (Account Name: Grand Alumni Homecoming Queen 2020).Donor/depositor should submit a copy of the receipt either to the Office of the President or through e-mail (homecoming@cpu.edu.ph). The name of the contestant must be specified. Donations in Philippine Peso may be remitted from August 1, 2019 until December 31, 2019.

4. Remittance period for dollar donations is from August 1, 2019 until October 31, 2019. Donations may be remitted through the following:
a. United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA)
b. CPU Federation of Overseas Alumni Associations (CPUFOAA)
c. University Dollar Account via the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)

Proof of deposit/remittance should be sent to the Canvassing Committee by email (homecoming@cpu.edu.ph). The name of the nominee must be specified.

5. The Elimination Round to choose the Top Ten shall be on January 15, 2020 through the initial canvassing of votes.

6. The First Canvassing for the Top Ten (10) contestants will be on February 5, 2020. Acceptance of amount is until 6:00 pm (Philippine time).

7. After the first canvassing, the canvassing committee shall release the initial results of the fund raised for each contestant without announcing the names of the contestant. All ten contestants shall continue to raise their fund to the second and up to the final canvassing.

8. The Second Canvassing is on February 6, 2020. Acceptance of amount is until 5:00 pm (Philippine time).

9. The Third and Final Round of canvassing is on February 7, 2020. Acceptance of amount is until 12 noon (Philippine time).
