On November 16, 2024, the Alfonso Uy Student Union Building Conference Hall buzzed with anticipation as work students and professionals gathered for a seminar on “Work Ethics and Communication Competency.” The event, organized by the Work Student Organization, aimed to equip participants with essential skills for success in the workplace.

The program commenced at 1:00 PM with a devotional, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the CPU Alma Mater Song. Ms. Bela-Marye Bautista and Ms. Jenny Buenaflor served as the dynamic emcees for the event.

Mr. Carlo James Pachano, Vice President for Internal Affairs of the Work Student Organization, delivered the welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of ethics and effective communication in professional settings.

The highlight of the seminar was the insightful lecture by Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Romarate delved into the significance of work ethics as the foundation of professional behavior and the role of communication competency in fostering collaboration and success. She shared real-world examples to illustrate the impact of ethical decision-making and effective communication.

A lively open forum followed, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their perspectives. The interactive session fostered a deeper understanding of the topics and provided practical advice for navigating ethical dilemmas and improving communication skills.

To express their gratitude, the organizers presented Dr. Romarate with a certificate of appreciation and tokens of appreciation. A group photo was taken to capture the memorable experience.

Mr. Joshua Barabona, Secretary of the Work Student Organization, delivered inspiring closing remarks, reinforcing the importance of ethics and communication in building successful careers. The seminar concluded with a closing prayer led by Ms. Kristal Claire Tagudando.
