Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) warmly welcomed five pre-service teachers from Central Philippine University, along with accompanying faculty and Student Exchange Mobility Coordinator, Prof. Maristel D. Decio, during a welcoming ceremony held at UKI Jakarta on February 13, 2025.
Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) welcomed the five pre-service teachers and accompanying faculty and Student Exchange Mobility Coordinator, Prof. Maristel D. Decio, from Central Philippine University (CPU) College of Education. The welcoming ceremony took place in UKI Jakarta on February 13, 2025.
The ceremony was organized by the UKI International Office, headed by Dr. Benedicta Stella Fortunae. Several university heads, together with their Vice-Rector, Dr. Ied Veda Rimrosa Sitepu, also attended the occasion. In her message, Dr. Sitepu warmly greeted their CPU partners and looked forward to a meaningful collaboration in the coming months.
Prof. Decio delivered a message on behalf of the CPU College of Education. In her speech, she acknowledged the strong bond between CPU and UKI in molding student teachers to embody resilience, knowledge, wisdom, and global competence. She highlighted the common goals shared by the two universities in building a strong foundation for aspiring educators with a strong and unwavering commitment to Exemplary Christian Education for Life.
The CPU pre-service teachers are Heinz Solo (BSNED) and Genie Lyn Entico (BSED-Science) who will be staying for one month as student interns; and Fan Li Kien De Vera (BSED-Science), Andrian Ponce (BSED-English), and Rhizel Faith Siva (BSED-English) who will be exchange-students for three months under Commission on Higher Education-International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS). They will be deployed at Raffles Christian Group of Schools – Kelapa Gading, Pondok Indah, and Kebon Jeruk campuses in Jakarta.
CPU and UKI have been partners under the SEAMEO Sea-Teacher Project and Student Exchange Programs since 2019. In their effort to sustain the ongoing partnership with CPU, UKI expressed their intention to send their pre-service teachers in the next academic year.
