The Festive Walk Mall in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, buzzed with excitement last March 18, 2024, as it hosted the Tech Awards Western Visayas. This prestigious event, organized by Tech For All, a coalition of various organizations and agencies aimed at bridging the digital divide, celebrated some of the region’s most outstanding students in technology for their significant contributions to local community development through innovative tech solutions.

Among the standout honorees were Hans Gabriel B. Daduya and Jenny Rose M. Suelan, both Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering students from Central Philippine University (CPU). Suelan achieved the top honor as the Most Outstanding Student in Technology, while Daduya earned the bronze medal, placing third in the competition.

Hans Gabriel Daduya, a technopreneur and currently a fourth-year student, impressed the judges with his digital prowess and innovative mindset. Garnering a total score of 90.65 points, Daduya’s achievements in tech and his role as Mr. CPU 2024 underscore his multifaceted talent and dedication. His involvement in startup competitions has not only honed his skills but also contributed to his recognition as a Tech Awardee.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Daduya shared, “When I got into college, I knew I did not just want to excel only in my academics but to go beyond that and make a difference by trying to affect the lives of other people. That is why I tried joining startup competitions and connected with people whose passion is in technology.”

Daduya’s journey reflects his deep passion for mathematics, computers, and programming, driving him to develop marketable initiatives that promise substantial community impact. His achievements at the Tech Awards Western Visayas 2024 are a testament to his commitment to leveraging technology for societal benefit.
