The CPU Student Recruitment Committee joined the Senior High School Career Day on January 28, 2026, guiding students to “Build, Explore, Discover” their career paths and learn why CPU is a top choice for higher education.

The Central Philippine University (CPU) Student Recruitment Committee participated in the CPU Senior High School Career Day held on January 28, 2026, at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, with the theme “Build, Explore, Discover: Creating Your Own Career Path.”

The activity aimed to guide Senior High School students in exploring possible college programs and career options while helping them make informed, purpose-driven decisions about their future. Through program presentations and interactive discussions, students gained a deeper appreciation of the wide range of academic offerings available at CPU.

During the program, Atty. Nestle G. Taala, Student Recruitment Officer (SRO), delivered a talk entitled “Why Choose CPU,” where she highlighted the university’s strong academic tradition, holistic Christian education, competent and caring faculty, student-centered support services, and commitment to producing graduates who are academically excellent and service-driven. She also emphasized CPU’s long-standing reputation as a premier institution in Western Visayas and its role in preparing students for both local and global opportunities.

Representatives from the following colleges were present to showcase their respective programs and engage directly with students:

  • College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences – Ms. Darren Joy Gandas
  • College of Business and Accountancy – Prof. Rae Marie G. Leong-On
  • College of Education – Prof. Bryan Paul Espinosa
  • College of Engineering – Engr. Bernie C. Cangrejo

This recruitment activity is one of the initiatives of the Student Recruitment under the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA), conducted in collaboration with the CPU SHS Guidance Services Center. It forms part of a comprehensive recruitment program that includes school visits in Iloilo City and Iloilo Province, Western Visayas, Palawan, and Mindanao, as well as an online career exploration program via Zoom for students who are unable to attend on-site activities.

To conclude the activity, students were strongly encouraged to take the CPU College Aptitude Test (CPUCAT) as an important step toward becoming a Centralian.

The SRO likewise invites other prospective students, including those from outside Iloilo and nearby provinces, to take the CPUCAT either on campus or through scheduled off-campus examinations and special testing arrangements (online CPUCAT for students abroad and students residing outside Western Visayas). Through this, CPU continues to open its doors to aspiring students who are ready to build their foundation, explore their interests, and discover their own career path at Central Philippine University.
