The six Centralian Girls Scouts who joined the Inclusion Program in Singapore.

On December 21-24, 2023 Six Girl Scout Youths joined the “Youths for Inclusion Starts with You and I”program in Singapore. The program which was initiated by Young Adults from Girl Guide Singapore, aims to foster diversity and inclusivity, particularly focusing on people with disabilities and cultural harmony.

The initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 8 and 10.2, addressing Decent Work and Economic Growth as well as Promoting Universal Social Inclusion. Geared towards youth engagement, the program spans across Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in Asia- including Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan.

Participants gained essential knowledge and skills to champion work-life balance, well-being, and advocate for diversity and inclusiveness as future leaders in their respective workplaces. The overarching goal is to contribute to sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, along with promoting social, economic, and political inclusion for all by 2030.

How were they chosen? -The girls were chosen based on several criteria, such as Active Girl Scout, Chief GS medalists and actively participating or involved in the implementation of the advocacy programs of the movement.

The Cadet Girl Scout delegates from CPU include: Ej Jimenez -3rd Year -BS in Management Accounting (CBA), Phoebe Mhay Porras -3rd Year -BS in Nursing (CON) Jannah Marie Lyn Baldevieso -1st year -BS in Nursing (CON) Rae Kianna Langusta -4th year -Psychology (CAS), Louise Antoniette Daquilanea -1st year – Accountancy (CBA) Queenie Belle Desamero -1st year -Civil Engineering (COE).
