The participants attended various workshops during the day.

The Sigrab Film Festival 2023 conducted a 1-day intensive workshop on April 3, 2023 at Cinematheque Iloilo as part of this year’s Centralian Fest. 11 Participating teams were present and had a chance to listen and learn from the veteran filmmakers of the region.

The morning session started with a talk about directing by Direk Kyle Fermindoza then followed by a Scriptwriting workshop by Direk Arlie Sweet Sumagaysay. The morning session ended with another workshop on Set Design by Direk Denise Hubag.

In the afternoon, Direk Sumagaysay discussed Cinematography and editing. It was then followed by an intense acting workshop by Sir Nathan Sotto.

“I have learned a lot about the workshop, especially in acting because as an actor it helps me to develop my skills in filmmaking and how to act real while the camera is rolling to make it more realistic based on the experiences so that the audience can also relate throughout the movie,” according to Princess Ann Herrera, an actress from the Senior High School Department.
Charlotte Gadian, a former CPU Communication Circle President and a former head organizer of the said film festival was also present in the workshop.

She said, “This year’s workshop gave me nostalgia and I really missed handling Sigrab. I am so happy that a lot of Centralians decided to join this year and that means we get to see a lot of great films once again. This year’s workshop, new organizers added the Acting segment which our Film teams really need and inviting Mr. Nathan was really a good move. I’m glad that we’re still thriving despite the circumstances. I am looking forward for the new set of films.”

The premier day of Sigrab Film Festival was on April 18, 2023 at the CPU EMC Conference Room.
