Central Philippine University’s Resource Generation Campaign: “Together We Build: A Journey Toward Excellence” continues to move forward with renewed passion and purpose. Officially launched on June 26, 2025, at the Henry Luce III Library Conference Room, the said campaign aims to raise ₱250 million to support the construction of a building complex for the College of Law and the College of Medicine.

Mrs. Perla G. Londres Waters, a member of CPU’s Board of Trustees from Chicago, shared an inspirational message during the launching. She reminded the CPU family that this campaign is also about building lives, preserving heritage, and creating opportunities for generations to come.

Mrs. Waters anchored her message on three guiding pillars: faith, legacy, and excellence. She recalled CPU’s humble beginnings rooted in missionary vision and sacrifice, and how the university has stood for more than 120 years as a testament to God’s providence and the community’s support. “What we are building now,” she said, “is more than brick and steel, it is a commitment to nurture futures and uphold excellence.”

Mrs. Waters also highlighted the pressing needs of the Colleges of Law and Medicine, which have long faced limitations in space and facilities. At present, Law students borrow classrooms from the Senior High School building, while Medicine students lack laboratories and research areas. The planned College of Law and Medicine Building seeks to address these gaps by providing moot courts, simulation rooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, and collaborative learning spaces.

Her message closed with a call that resonated deeply with the campaign’s spirit: to embrace generosity and to remember the words of Scripture: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” It was both an encouragement and a challenge, urging the CPU community to continue giving with joy and faith, knowing that what is built today will serve countless lives tomorrow.

As CPU looks toward its 120th anniversary this October, the Resource Generation Campaign stands as a milestone and a promise. It invites Centralians everywhere including alumni, faculty, staff, students, and partners to join in shaping the future.

More than just a building project, Together We Build is a living testament that when a community unites in faith and purpose, excellence is not just pursued but achieved, and always, shared.
