CPU-PSSE and partner organizations pose for a group photo with students, commemorating a day dedicated to technology, innovation, and learning.
In celebration of the University’s Outreach Week, the Central Philippine University Philippine Society of Software Engineers (CPU-PSSE), in partnership with DEVCON Kids Iloilo, conducted a community outreach activity titled “Scrum Your Way to AI: From Ideas to Action” on December 4, 2025. The event took place at the Tiu Cho Teg – Ana Ros Foundation Integrated Farm School, Iloilo Radial By-Pass Road, Jaro, Iloilo City, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The activity introduced participating students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI), showcased its real-world applications, and encouraged them to develop simple technology- and AI-driven ideas. Through hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions, the program aimed to inspire creativity and innovation among young learners, especially in underserved communities.
CPU-PSSE, a university-recognized academic organization, is the only group in the Philippines dedicated to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. DEVCON Iloilo, an international non-profit organization, works to make computer science education more accessible to children, particularly those from marginalized sectors.
The outreach activity exemplified CPU’s commitment to fostering digital literacy, innovation, and community engagement, equipping students with skills that are increasingly vital in today’s technology-driven world.
